Nash Latkje, the protagonist controlled by the player and an agent of Holy Harmonia's Southern Border Defence Force, has been assigned to obtain information to either verify or disprove a rumour concerning the appearance of one of the 27 True Runes in the Jowston City States. After the completion of the Dunan Unification Wars (the events of Suikoden II), Nash intends to return to the capital of Holy Harmonia, the Crystal Valley. However, his travels involve more adventure than he anticipates.
His journey involves traveling through the Grasslands, where one village happens to be celebrating the legend of the Flame Champion and the Fire Bringers who stopped the Harmonians from invading some sixty years ago; an unfortunate stop over in Caleria, the base of operations for mercenaries of Southern Harmonian Border Defence Force; helping stop a wild dragon from terrorizing a village before finally reaching his destination.
As Volume 2 was released roughly a year before Suikoden III, it presumably helped set up and introduce the Grasslands, which were the main focus of Suikoden III. Nash also returns in Suikoden III; outside Japan, Suikoden III is Nash's first appearance in the series.
Development[edit]
The Suikogaiden games were made by a separate development group at Konami. After Duel at Crystal Valley was completed, the Suikoden III team and the Suikogaiden team merged and began work on both Suikoden IV and Suikoden V.
English localization[edit]
As of September 2013, a fan translation of the both games has been produced and released to the public by a group of enthusiastic Suikoden fans, led by RinUzuki.[1] The latest patches can be downloaded from their website.

World, setting, andconcepts
Essentially, each game follows the plot formula of a coup d'étatby corrupt power holder(s) and the main protagonist is an exilefrom his/her home. The plot also follows the disastrous misuse ofthe 'True Runes' while the hero struggles, despite overwhelmingodds, to bring peace to the land alongside his/her friends, and theclimactic showdown with the corrupted True Rune incantation.
The 27 TrueRunes
The 27 True Runes are powerful sources of all magic andprimal forces in the world of Suikoden. Wholly sentient andpossessing their own will, the True Runes holds immeasurable power, and are the equivalents of gods in the Suikoden world. Many warshave been fought over them in the past, some instigated by the willof the runes themselves. True Runes are often sought by thepowerful and influential due to their shared property of grantingimmortality to those who will bear them. All bearers of True Runesstop aging and become immune to disease and all other naturalcauses of death, though they can still die from physical traumasuch as accidents or murder.
The True Runes often attach themselves to living beings. Doingso gives the True Rune holder great power over the force the runerepresents as well as immortality so long as they wield the rune.Wielding the runes can also have negative consequences, as in thecase of one wielder being transformed into a vampire[1]. A TrueRune has also taken the shape of a sword, as is the case with theStar Dragon Sword[2]. Theycan also manifest themselves unattached from a host, as the BeastRune did during the Highland-Jowston conflict, self-activating andthen feeding of its own will.[3]

Geography
The Suikoden series is set in a world with manycountries. Sims 3 xbox 360 download. The political geography has changed over the serieschronology; while the most recent game in the setting is Suikoden V,chronologically, Suikoden IV is the earliest game whileSuikodenIII occurs latest within the time span of the series.
Suikoden, Suikoden II andSuikodenIII are set on the Northern Continent, a land masscomposed of several regions. Suikoden takes place in theScarlet Moon Empire, which is located on southeastern coast of theNorthern Continent, and is composed primarily of the Toran region, with Lake Toran at its centre. Notable locations in this areainclude Gregminister, the empire's capital situated in Arlus, theWarrior's Village in the Lorimar region, and the Great Forest. Atthe end of Suikoden, the empire is replaced by the ToranRepublic.
Suikoden II is set in the Dunan region, directly northof the Toran Republic, and initially comprises the Highland Kingdomin the east and the Jowston City-States, a confederation of politically autonomousstates, in the west. Significant locations in Jowston include thecities-states of South Window, Greenhill, Muse, and Two River, andthe Knightdom of Matilda. Following the Dunan Unification War, theHighland Kingdom falls and it, along with the Jowston City-Statesunite to form the Dunan Republic. The Tinto region lying in thewest, separated from Dunan by mountains, chooses to remainpolitically independent and becomes the Tinto Republic.
Sharing Dunan's western border and north of Tinto are theGrasslands, which stretch from the centre of the Northern Continentto a small portion of the continent's west coast. The area iscomposed of the six clans: the Lizard, Duck, Karaya, Chisha, Safir, and the Alma Kinan. Directly west of the Grasslands and bordered inthe east by Tinto is the Zexen Confederacy, located on the westcoast of the Northern Continent and historically an offshoot of theGrasslands. Important locations include the Zexen capital Vinay delZexay and Budehuc Castle, which lies close to the Grasslands borderin northwest Zexen. The primary conflict of Suikoden IIIoccurs in these areas. The northwestern portion of the continent, due north of the Grasslands and Zexen, is the Knightdom of Camaroand the surrounding Nameless Lands.
The largest country in the north is the Holy Kingdom ofHarmonia, located in the northeastern portion of the continent.Since its establishment, it has assimilated various neighbouringcountries, such as Sanadia, as well as a portion of the Grasslands- the Kanaa clan of the Grasslands became Le Buque under Harmonianrule after the First Fire Bringer War. Notably, the Scarlet MoonEmpire originally formed after obtaining political autonomy fromHarmonia and taking Harmonia's old capital as its own, renaming itGregminister, resulting in Harmonia establishing a new capital atthe Crystal Valley. Harmonia is also home to the Tower, a locationreserved for training and housing members of the Howling VoiceGuild.
Other major areas on the Northern Continent include the Koolukregion and Kanakan. The Kooluk region was originally the KoolukEmpire during the course of Suikoden IV and eventuallydissolved in Suikoden Tactics to be left as agroup of independent settlements. It takes up most of the southernedge of the Northern continent and directly borders the ToranRepublic in the east and the Dunan Republic in the north. Off theeastern coast of Toran is the island of Kanakan.
Lying directly south of the Northern Continent is the ocean andseveral islands, including Obel, Middleport, and Razril. At the endof Suikoden IV, most of these islands are unified tobecome the Island Nations Federation. The largest island in thearea, the Dukedom of Gaien, remains independent. West of Gaien isthe island nation of the Kingdom of Zelant.
Due south of the Island Nations is the Southern Continent, alandmass composed primarily of three countries: the Queendom ofFalena, and its neighbours, the theocracy of Nagarea in thesouthwest and the New Armes Kingdom in the southeast. As thesetting for Suikoden V, Falena has a large network ofrivers and lakes throughout the country and the Ashtwal Mountainsin its northern region. Key locations include the cities ofStormfist and Doraat in the west; Rainwall, Estrise, and Sable, located on the Armes border, in the east; Lelcar, Lordlake, andSauronix in the south; and the Falenan capital, Sol-Falena, and theholy land of Lunas, governed by the Oracle, in the north. Falenahas been protected from Nagarea since the mountain pass between thenations was destroyed, though Armes continues to remain a threatthroughout Suikoden V.
Northeast of Falena also appears portion of a landmass ofconsiderable size. West of the Northern and Southern Continents andthe Island Nations is a landmass referred to as the WesternContinent, of which few details are known. Scattered across theworld are mysterious ruins attributed to the lost Sindar race, which is a recurring theme throughout the Suikoden series.
